The Cotopaxi Volcano is a challenge for mountain climbers from all over the world, its summit reaches 5 897m / 19 347 ft and it is the second highest mountain in the country. It is a natural monument because of its great beauty. This glacier-covered volcano has an ice crater with an 800 m diameter which can only be seen from the mountain top. It is located in the Cotopaxi National Park and is one of the most highly visited mountains in Ecuador.
